Obituary

Donald LeRoy Reed, 78, of Seymour, IN, passed away at Hickory Creek Healthcare Facility in Columbus on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Don was born August 11, 1938 in Waymansville, IN, the son of Ernest M. and Donna J. (Young) Reed. He graduated from Shields High School in 1956.

Don was a Viet Nam Veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during his working career and retiring on September 1, 1986 after 30 years of service.

He was also a member of VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post #89 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #655.

He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Mary) Reed and Dana Reed, sisters, Janet (Estel) Voss and Linda Reed, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, stepmother, Jean Reed, sister, Betty Baranowski and brother, Ernest Reed preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 9 until 11 a.m. An Order of Eagles memorial service will be held at 10:45 a.m. and then we will proceed to Lutheran Cemetery for a graveside service to include Military Graveside Rites conducted by the American Legion #89, V.F.W. #1925, and associates all of Seymour.

Memorials can be made to the Order of Eagles Aerie #655 or Jackson County Public Library.
