Jerome D. Fox, 96, of Cincinnati, OH and formerly of Seymour and Charlestown, IN, passed away at Kenwood Terrace Care Center in Cincinnati on Friday, March 31, 2017. Jerome (Jerry) was born May 15, 1920 in Paducah, KY, the son of Charles Edward and Bonnie Opal (Peebles) Fox. He was married to Estella Jean Stone, September 1949 in Paris Crossing. She preceded him in death in 1994.
Jerome was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army Air Corp. He was a former member of Marion Baptist Church while in the Seymour area. Jerome worked as a welder for Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown for 33 years. He retired in 1982. He loved to do wood working and built rocking horses for his granddaughter and others.
He is survived by his son: Michael (Nancy) Fox of Cincinnati; granddaughter, Sarah Fox of Cincinnati; sisters-in-law, Jean Fox of Sacramento, CA and Beatrice Simmons of Seymour plus several nieces and nephew.
His parents, wife, 3 brothers, John, Quentin and Charles Fox; sister, Mary Fox Bridges preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Burkholder Funeral Chapel with Rev Jeff Hood officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral chapel on Thursday, from 11 until time of service.
Burial will follow at Uniontown Cemetery.
