Travis Eldon Baker, 75, of Seymour, IN, passed away at his home on Friday, June 30, 2017. Travis was born on August 5, 1941 in English IN, the son of Melvin E. and Alice (Sauerheber) Baker and graduated from English High School. Travis was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having retired after 38 years of service.
Travis enjoyed fishing, golf, baseball, basketball, bowling, betting on horses, and was an avid IU basketball fan.
He is survived by his son, Jarid A. (Pam) Baker, stepdaughters Leann and Renea Scales, grandsons Tristan Rogers, Pierce and Waylon Baker, granddaughters, Russia and Keanna Jones, Patricia Perkins and Julia Henry, great-grandson DeAndre Jones, five sisters, Wanda Wright, Myrtle Bennett, Berdie Senn, Marjorie Johnson, several nieces and nephews and his caregivers and best friends Randy and Kay Green.
His parents, and sister Norma Jean preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Burkholder Funeral Chapel where Rev. Larry Harding will officiate. Visitation will be at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the funeral chapel.
Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
